Paloma

PALOMA was found by a hoarder in the street and they put her in their backyard with many other dogs even though she was clearly injured. She crawled under their house and lived there for a year without medical care. Eventually they surrendered her after the landlord threatened eviction & animal control.

When I met PALOMA she was thin, could not use her back legs and was covered in urine stains. She was in desperate need of love, medical care, a bath and grooming. She got it all. She is full of JOY and loves life! She is a WONDERFUL, LOVING and LOYAL friend and does not let her handicap slow her down.

Paloma loves other dogs, her therapy, has a great attitude and never gives up! After a very rough year this little girl deserves the best! She is looking for her forever family, rescue or sanctuary. She needs to be in a place where she will not be tumbled, where she can have the right surface to walk on and preferably grass to lay on when she is not on a comfy bed. Acupuncture would be a big help to her as well, and I believe massages have been helpful too – she really loves them!

X-rays show that PALOMA has a spinal malformation, most likely from a car accident or from a rare congenital defect. She had very weak back legs and was having some urine leakage problems from not being able to stand & walk normally but this is getting much better now.

Paloma does not act like she has a disability, and does not seem to be in any pain. Her tongue is in great shape, working at full speed giving kisses! Always ready to play, Paloma likes smaller dogs but does not shy away from larger dogs. She goes down steps easily and concentrates to get up steps but always gives it a try.

If you can offer PALOMA a wonderful, loving, caring and understanding home OR if you are a sanctuary or rescue that can give her the right environment to continue her recover, please email me at KristiSchneider@yahoo.com
