Going the distance has been a recent and recurring theme. HTFF is trying to go the distance and while we want to stay small, we want to stay mighty. We know we can only do this with our own place. We are calling it the C.A.R.E. Center...Cattery and Rescue Establishment. We want to be in Arcadia. We want to have both cats and small dogs in the facility. We want to make it enchanting and inviting. It's our dream. The only way we can go the distance is to have a place of our own and the CARE Center is going to be our place. Wed became a costly day. We took 3 kittens and a small, newly rescued, dog to the local humane society clinic to get fixed and some got their shots. Thinking this was going to be low cost, we were shocked when it came to $375. The dog was in heat and they charge more for her spay as well as vaccinations, than other low cost clinics. We are trying to go the distance but expenses are high. Volunteer, Eileen, got the trio of kitts and the dog, named Pepper, to the clinic and foster mom, Valerie, picked them up. I rescued a bunny in the morning. A month ago I rescued a bunny, now named Velveteen, from an Offer Up ad and Wed, the lady reached out to me to get the Momma bun. So now we have Momma and her bunny girl. Both will be adopted together as they are a bonded pair of buns.
Picked up donations from PetSmart Monrovia...yay!...and was able to finally sit down to write this...at 1:30 in the morning. I am going on Day 3 in a newly signed up for Fit Body Boot Camp in the morning, so I am going to take a nap now...Cat
